National Lottery 2010 award winners

The winners of Lottery National Awards for 2010 have been revealed live, Saturday evening, at a ceremony of Awards television special hosted by John Barrowman. Regular readers will remember our previous coverage of the National Lottery Awards, there are 21 projects of lottery in the running for a total of 7 prizes, and the fate of all the contenders was determined by a vote of the public. Best Arts project
The winner of the prize for the best Arts project was the project of Film from Beacon Hill in North Tyneside which allows young people to serious learning become filmmakers full.

Best health project
The award for best health project was won by access to citizenship, a project that helps people with disabilities to learn to enjoy a full and active role in society. Provides courses of training and development, access to citizenship made much good in the awareness of persons with learning disabilities.

Best heritage project
The Isle of Wight railway restoration project allows members of the public to travel on the trains which was commonplace a century of experience ago steam. Anyone who experienced a journey with the permission of the project for the restoration of the Isle of Wight will be particularly pleased that it has now won the award for the best heritage project.

Best Sports project
The winner of the prize for the best project of Sports went to the children's project Able and disabled Sport, otherwise known as ECAD. This project organizes fully inclusive sporting activities for children in greater Manchester and Cheshire which all can participate in regardless of whether or not they have a disability.

Best voluntary/charity project
The winner of this category has been Hospice for children little paradise in Essex. This charity exists to support children and adolescents who are approaching the end of their life or expecting only way to survive to adulthood.

The reading Agency receives award

The reading agency received a prize of £ 346,500 by the Big Lottery Fund for MyVoice project that will benefit young people aged 11 to 19 years in London, the Southeast, Northwest and northeast of England. The MyVoice project will provide 30 000 young people with creative reading and writing opportunities by working closely with 20 library services across the country, and the price of six digits will be delivered over three years.

Speaking Miranda McKearney, who is Director of the award, the reading Agency Executive, said: "The reading Agency is pleased by this award to allow us to launch MyVoice, in collaboration with the responsible authorities of 20 libraries in four regions across England." It is a vote of confidence at a time of great pressure on libraries, comforting for their vital community work. MyVoice program is led by young people and offer creative reading and writing of 30 000 young people from disadvantaged opportunities 11-19 years, which will unlock the joy of reading and the chances of life brings.

"Young people will be supported to become involved in the activities in their local libraries spaces and youth, develop ideas online, choose books and help inspire other young people to read." With our partners in the library, 6 000 new opportunities we too can volunteer who will be part of accredited price plans and support links in employment and internships for young people in the areas of creative writing and literacy. »
